What I believe is a 1984 Raleigh Record Ace 12 frame and fork, built with 1984 Campagnolo Record cranks and 42T c/w, BB, and brakes (with new Dia Compe hoods), 1970's Nuovo Record 2 bolt post, Brooks Professional saddle, custom built Ambrosio Durex hard annodized rims and Suzue HF track hubs laced with twisted Wheelsmith spokes (27"), Clemente "Gentleman" 27"x22mm clinchers, 15T EAI cog w/ SOMA lockring, 3/32 KMC Kool Chain, SR pedals, leathered Christophe clips and Lapize straps, SOMA 456 (Nitto copy) bars, BF stem, Silca Impero pump with Campagnolo head, cheap ass Pyramid fenders, cool old bell, stainless steel TA Specialties bottle cage, and Benotto cello-tape.

A simple but cool looking conversion I built as a shop bike for running neighborhood errands and so customers can test ride a fixie without putting one of our $1000+ italian track bikes in jeapordy. I pulled off the stock Suntour gears and crank and installed a 110 mm sealed Shimano bb and some 170mm Sugino GPX cranks with a Sugino Mighty Competition chainring and some cheap "track style" clip and strap pedals. Next came a set of the obligatory Weinmann/Formula flip flop wheels and some 28mm Kenda Kontender rubber. A gold KMC BMX chain sets it off nicely as well as a cut down black DK seatpost and retro looking Velo saddle. Both stock Dia Compe brakes stayed on for customer safety as much as for aesthetics, since the cool yellow cables and bar tape are what drew me to this bike in the first place, besides the stock Nitto bars and stem are perfectly shaped and sized for this bike, so why change?

(notice the grease on the left crank arm from assembly and inspection tag still on the wheels... Thats what happens when you build a bike on a slow afternoon at the shop and can't wait to test ride and photograph it...)

| Steve R's Razesa |
I built this bad bitch for my boy Steve and he commutes 20 miles a day to and from DC with it. The frame is a late 80's Spanish made Razesa with tight true track geometry. Highlights include classic pre-1972 Campagnolo Nuovo Record cranks, MKS Sylvan pedals/clips/straps, a Nitto Jaguar track stem, deep Modolo track drops and some new sealed Formula/Weinnman wheels with a Surly cog and lockring. This is a sweet bare bones old school track bike, so nice I nearly kept it for myself ;) . Rumour has it Steve is either bolting on an old Brooks saddle or a slick new Ti saddle soon to further up the ante on this ride.

| Bruce's Raliegh |
|
I built this one back in January for my buddy Bruce to commute on. A few months ago he was hit by a car on his way to work and spent 13 weeks in the hospital. The bike faired much better.. a new front wheel and she was good as new. Dig the purple accents ;) too cool.
big 531 Raliegh f/f Somax wheels, Surly cogs, GT bullhorn MTB bars, Vetta suede saddle, cheap purple BMX brake lever... |
